This is an absolute tragedy, no doubt about it. An infant died while being cared for at an unlicensed daycare in Tennessee. I feel for the parents, and I feel for everyone involved.

The reason this story is being posted to this board... well "Edna Murray," the proprietor, "tested positive for marijuana when they arrived at the center." What does marijuana have to do with this case... no idea. Why was she tested for marijuana, no idea. Except that a tip was given to police years ago that marijuana was smelt near Murray's home. This is more fear mongering by the marijuana war fans. They are using this travesty to justify that marijuana is evil, despite the fact that no evidence has been given to suggest marijuana played any part of this tragic stiuation.

A Modest Proposal

It is clear that we are not winning the war on drugs. Therefor something must be done, and to this end I have a modest proposal in order to stop the violence, bloodshed, addiction, and suffering that is caused by drugs. It is a modest proposal, one that would cost a fraction of the current war, and it would be 100% effective. It is time for an all out offensive on drugs.

Recall the forces in Afghanistan and Iraq, there services are required here at home to defeat the nefarious drug fiends. As everyone knows once a person even touches an illicit drug they are turned into a murderous fiend and thief. They will immediately go home and slaughter their family and rob the nearest liquor store. With this in mind my suggestion is not as radical as it will first appear.

What we must do is anytime someone is even suspected of having seen drugs we must send in a strike force to eliminate him. I don't mean arrest, detain, question and incarcerate, I mean take him out permanently, murderize him, put him six feet under, wack him, whatever term you prefer for putting two bullets in his chest and one in his head.

Since we know an addict of marijuana (or any other illicit drug) will immediately contract that horrible and incurable disease of reefer madness which will grant them superhuman strength and the desire to consume human blood. Studies have shown that vampire myths are based on reefer addicts.

By simply killing anyone who has contact with drugs we ensure that the rest of society can continue. Sure we will be slaughtering many humans, but as the movie "Wanted" taught us, "Kill one, save a thousand".

The Canadian Press: Supreme Court of Canada won't hear appeal of medical marijuana case

The Supreme Court of Canada is refusing to hear an appeal by the Government to overturn the decision by the Ontario Supreme Court stating that the Medicinal Marijuana Access Regulations are invalid. This mean that compassion clubs and dispensaries could be something we start seeing here in Canada shortly.

Under the current law only the government is allowed to grow for more than one patient, however since it is known that the pot the government provides is little better than ditch weed and they can't seem to keep pace with demand it was deemed that it violates the Charter of Rights to limit other growers, who can do a much better job than the government, to just grow for one patient. This opens the door for commercial growers to start growing for multiple patients.

Now its up to the government to figure out how they are going to fix the current regulations to allow more commercial growers. Considering Harper's stance on drugs, they will probably respond by ignoring the courts which will open up more lawsuits against the government.

Two fifth graders were arrested for dealing marijuana and possession of marijuana in Indianapolis. Parents from the area are shocked, one said "Why does your child have drugs? That's crazy." The reason kids have access to drugs, even at 10 and 11 is that drug dealers (real dealers not a couple of punk kids trying to be gangsta) don't care if they sell it to a 10 year old or a 20 year old, cash in hand is all they require.

I have said it many times, but I think it is worth saying again, if you want to keep marijuana out of the hands of kids the ONLY to do this with any sort of effectiveness is to legalize and regulate marijuana. Currently kids report having a much easier time getting their hands on marijuana than alcohol. With proper controls in place and hefty fines on stores that sell marijuana to underage kids marijuana use amongst kids will plummet.

The Canadian Press: Police in London, Ont., discover two alligators during search of home

Another one from my home town. Police raided a London home expecting to find marijuana, which they did. However what they didn't count on was the two alligators and other exotic animals. Apparently the animals were kept inadequately.... alls I can say is, gee really, the guy didn't have a proper tank to fit two full grown alligators in his home. They also found nunchucks... were these guys in Grade 8, because I would have loved to live in a place with alligators and nunchucks when I was in grade 8.

Two men were charged with drug possession and possession of a prohibited weapon, but no charges have been laid from the keeping of the animals as of yet.

Steven B. Clarke, come on down, you are the latest contestant on who wants to be a bonehead. While stopped at a red light Clarke decided to take a little nap, not an advisable thing to do at the best of times, this was not the best of times. Clarke had a bag of weed on him, and according to police the car smelled of that sweet sweet smell of sticky icky that we all know and love, to make matters worse he was just in front of a police cruiser at the time.

Now I know marijuana can make you drowsy, and I know it impairs your judgment, but come on. Even when I am doing everything right I get ultra paranoid when I see a cop car behind me, how could you just doze off while you had a bag of mary jane on you?

To make matters worse Clarke admitted to police that he smokes a lot of marijuana. Come on, he must have known it is illegal. Just being from Jamaica doesn't make it legal mon, even in Indiana.

A hard-partying teenager -- and not a malicious animal-hater -- was behind a number of dog poisonings at a Port Perry park last month, Durham Regional Police said yesterday.

Investigators determined source of the poisonings were marijuana-laced muffins, dumped in Poplar Park by an 18-year-old who was cleaning up after hosting several house parties during March Break.

Four dogs became ill on March 23 after eating the tainted treats.

A local vet alerted authorities and initial testing of the treats led police to believe they were spiked with antifreeze. But subsequent tests revealed the dogs may have suffered cannabis poisoning.

"The citizens in the area were very helpful in solving this case," Durham Regional Police spokesperson Dave Selby said, adding their tip led investigators to the teen.

Police don't believe the teenager had any criminal intent in dumping the tainted muffins and he won't be charged.

All the sickened dogs have made full recoveries.

Ok I am confused, what the heck is cannabis poisoning. I have only ever come across this term twice, and both times the medical community were puzzled by the cases and suspected there was more too it. These dogs looked like they had consumed antifreeze, a very toxic substance, but it turns out it was marijuana? I detect the distinct aroma of seafood, or is that manure of a male cow? In order to fatally overdose on marijuana a person would have to smoke or ingest ridiculous amounts of marijuana, so much so it is virtually impossible, now granted dogs have much less mass and therefore require much less marijuana to overdose, that being said, how many freaking muffins did this teenager toss?
